Grade 2 Titanium Threaded Rod, ASTM B-348, 5/16"-18, 24" Overall Length (Pack of 1) Reviews
Grade 2 Titanium Threaded Rod, ASTM B-348, 5/16"-18, 24" Overall Length (Pack of 1) Feature
- Threaded Rods and Studs allow for fast assembly and disassembly
- Titanium is suitable for applications that require a combination of high strength to weight ratio and corrosion resistance
- Similar to a bolt, but does not have a head
- Studs are generally shorter in length than Threaded Rods
- Coarse threads are better for brittle materials, and will assemble and disassemble more quickly than fine threads
Nonmagnetic and lightweight, Titanium exhibits high strength to weight ratios, excellent temperature stability, and good corrosion resistance. Compared to Stainless or Alloy steels, commercially pure Titanium weighs approximately 44% less and is equal, or greater, in yield and tensile strength. Titanium will withstand temperatures up to 800F (up to 2000F for short periods) and is resistant to the corrosive effects of salt water, many acids, alkalis, and other chemicals.
A threaded fastener's size name includes information about the major external diameter, followed by the threads per inch, which indicates if it is coarse or fine. Coarse threads are better when working with brittle materials; they are sturdier and are easier to thread and unthread compared to fine. Coarse threading also allows for thicker coatings and platings.
